| MT1

Metallothionein-1 (MT1) are low in molecular weight, are cysteine-rich, lack aromatic residues, and bind divalent heavy metal ions. The conserved cysteine residues co-ordinate metal ions using mercaptide linkages. Metallothionein-1 (MT1) act as anti-oxidants, protect against hydroxyl free radicals, are important in homeostatic control of metal in the cell, and play a role in detoxification of heavy metals.

| Recovery

The recovery of Rat MT1 spiked at three different levels in samples throughout the range of the assay was evaluated in various matrices.

| Linearity

Samples were spiked with high concentrations of Rat MT1 and diluted with Universal Diluent to produce samples with values within the range of the assay.
